Warning against refusing god

Hebrews 12: 14 -29 Make an effort to live peacefully with everyone and to be holy because without holiness you will not be able to see the lord. Make it your mission to see that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitterness cause trouble. Because we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken let us be thankful and worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Reminding myself

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. I feel as of late I haven't been living for God. This inevitable as I am a sinner. Also maintaining a faith where I can't physically see who I'm worshiping makes it harder as I'm surrounded and distracted with sin, but this passage told me and reminded me my faith is my confidence in what I seek assurance for. This which is the existence of my God. With this, I can rest assured knowing my God is always watching me and guiding my path in my spiritual journey. (kinda cheesy but its true)

The narrow and wide gates

The gates of heaven are wide and open. However, only some find their way in. More the reason why you should seek your way into heaven to spend eternity with God.

Ask, seek, knock

Matthew 7:7-12 Ask and you shall receive, by God's grace if you knock on his door he will open. Therefore live biblically and live for god and he will give when you ask.

Judging others

Matthew 7:11 - 6 Don't judge others because you are not any better or worse than the person you are judging. We are all sinners alike therefore making us equal hence why you do not have the right to judge each other. Only god our father has the right to judge as he is pure and holy.

Do not worry

Mathew 6: 25-34 Don't worry about your life. God already has a plan for your life. As long as you remain in the faith he will guide you throughout your life.

Treasures in Heaven

Mathew 6: 19-24 Don't bother gathering worldly treasures but instead store yourself treasures in heaven where you will spend the internity of your life with your father.

Prayer

Mathew 6:5-15 In the same way you give to the needy in secret, also pray in secret and do not boast about it. Prayer is something that we're allowed to do by the grace of our merciful God, not something we have to do or be obliged to do.

Giving to the needy

Mathew 6:1-4 Give to the needy however, keep it low key and do not boast about giving merely to be honoured by others but do so in secret so your father in heaven may see you and reward you.

An eye for an eye

Mathew 6:38-42 Go the extra mile. If someone causes you harm whether it be physical or psychological let them have their way with you. Don't resist an evil person. Instead, submit, give to the one who asks you and do not turn from those who wants to borrow from you.

Salt and light

Mathew 5: 13 - 16 As a Christian, we cannot just merely fit in with the rest of the world. With the analogy of salt losing its saltiness, it illustrates how we will lose our effectiveness for god if we merely 'fit in'. So instead we should stand out as Christians, in a way shine our light for others to see so that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in Heaven.

The Prayer of Faith

James:5 verse 13 - 20 If you know yourself and you've done wrong confess. Confess so that you may be healed. If you see a brother or a sister in Christ wander from the faith, Bring him/her back. Because whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them and cover over a multitude of sins.

Patience in suffering

James 5 Be patient and persevere through your suffering as his return is near. Forgive your brothers and sisters in Christ and do not judge them. Be patient and stand firm because blessed those who have persevered. Tame your tongue and do not swear by anything or you will be condemned.
